This series is inspired by an experience I had following eye surgery in 2016. Transplanted corneal tissue was suspended with an air bubble that appeared as a floating black and gray disc in my field of vision. Although it was visible for only 4 days, the air bubble became a powerful impetus that has led me to create these and many other works.
